Lowri Davies

Lowri Davies has been all over the blogosphere with her delicately printed ceramics. But I just can't resist giving them a little more air time.  The illustrations look like scenes out of Nora's Castle and the light use of gilding adds just the right amount of formality to the whimsical pieces. I am very curious about her techniques for layering images... any guesses?

These ARE gorgeous! I'm thinking lots of decals and multiple firings. I've been thinking of experimenting with laser transfers and decals myself next semester, along with silk screen transfers, etc. There is just too much to explore! By the way, thanks for following my blog. Now I am following you. Oh, were you at CCACA?

some slip, underglaze and decals perhaps, just lovely work. I have a laser jet waiting in the wings for some of my drawings I want to be crisper than they are with my slip painting.

I Love her work; I WANT that grey glaze! Very nice use of decals and lustre! modern, hip and classic at the same time!
