Bean Finneran

Bean Finneran's work is vibrant, youthful, and explosive. If you can believe, these bold sculptures are made of small earthenware coils (sometimes gently glazed) that are fired and then stained with an acrylic medium, which the 62 year old artist then assembles without anchor or adhesive into these anamorphic mounds, piles, and rings.

wow.

Her artist's statement on the PDX Contemporary Art Gallery's website is particularly nice to read as it uncovers some of Finneran's creative intentions.
