That's kinda what everyone has be...Hi Heather,

That's kinda what everyone has been saying... that once you pass an image though so many process it's been changed enough to excuse it from copyright limitations. I don't know though. I'm just so scared about using certain images. Like tracing, altering, transferring, and then stitching or using with mishima is not enough of a change. But I guess it is. I suppose until I speak with a lawyer about this it won't feel clear enough to me. Such a sticky subject. Well, until then I'll just keep playing around with what I've got. P.S. Glad you like the new look. Me too.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12640513421114712561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6080051903469559796.post-85678499067387332202011-03-13T13:48:46.720-07:002011-03-13T13:48:46.720-07:00Great review, Jesse- what a great experience to be...Great review, Jesse- what a great experience to be part of a hands-on workshop with Diana! Amazing!
I also think it's wonderful to be able to 'try on' someone's style and methods without having to commit to anything in a workshop setting. Often down the road, those techniques may come in handy in your own work and in your own way.
As for copyright- I know that when I took a workshop with Paul Scott (printmaking on clay guru) we used magazine material and imagery. I really think that the moment you translate an image into a drawing or into a silkscreen or gocco, and start playing around with it, I think it's becoming something different. Really, the copyright issue is such a gray issue- for instance, when 2 people start using the same stamps they've bought at a craft store in their work, who's copyright is it?
By the way-love the new look here on your blog!
