I was taking brake from sculpture for a year now. yesterday before I fall a sleep I just have an idea to make a sculpture piece. sometime is good to take a break but the key is keep working(maybe drawing, pottery or photos.) don't stop! First, love your blog! As I've said,...hi J-Lu! First, love your blog! As I've said, it's so clear and bright - you are an inspiration, even if you don't feel 'inspired' at the moment. So, thank you for having the MUDBUCKET!

I've been going through a spate of down time too; I just got back to clay after two months off; and I was almost nervous about starting back in studio; but after a few days I was getting a groove on (at least I'd like to think so ha-ha:). My thing about 'down time' is to just do something else. I surf and the water is a wonderful place to be. I learned to knit (poorly) over my break and as I'm a painter; I painted a little. My main excercise for inspiration is to look at other art - pics, anything, go to shows, museums. I just take in a ton of imagry and let it stew and wait for it to pop out. Probably sounds silly; but it works for me.

I also think the 'down times' are just as important as the creative times - I just think it's as much a part of the creative process for an artist.

BTW - the changes here look great!Linda Faheyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01659092543760868040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6080051903469559796.post-40076607677462390542010-01-25T08:08:15.202-08:002010-01-25T08:08:15.202-08:00When uninspired I go here: http://carolinedouglas....When uninspired I go here: http://carolinedouglas.blogspot.com/

Who I love now (and for the last 2+ years): http://carolinedouglas.blogspot.com/

Who I'd love to see you feature: http://carolinedouglas.blogspot.com/

Does it get any better? I designed my first room for a client and while it was successful, it has left me feeling drained and disconnected. I definitely have design 'blahs' right now and have even been avoiding my usual diet of blogs. Maybe I'm just tired. I have no answers, just commiseration.

Here, I would like to see you talk more about your own work and work process. Not sure you want to explicate all of its meaning on a blog, but it would interest me.Alexis L. of One Grand Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07909869206244470064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6080051903469559796.post-8902924218908356542010-01-24T09:59:21.597-08:002010-01-24T09:59:21.597-08:00when I'm feeling uninspired, I take a day trip...when I'm feeling uninspired, I take a day trip somewhere completely different and relax and then inspiration comes back to me.
